Tubes

Liam,
I took you to the pediatrician in early May, because I thought you had hand, foot, and mouth disease. It was going around your daycare, and you had a hideous rash on your butt. By the time I took you in, the rash was clearing up, but... of course, we discovered that you had another ear infection. So, we had to set up an appointment with the ENT.

We took you to the ENT on May 17. He said he definitely wanted to put tubes in. They looked at the schedule, and it was either wait about a month, which the doctor didn't want to do, or do it the next morning! So, you had tubes put in on May 18.

You were such a brave boy! You didn't have to have an IV or anything- they just use laughing gas to put you under. The surgery was done in about 10 minutes. When you woke back up, you were NOT happy! You cried off and on for about two hours. Finally, back at home, you passed out on my lap while watching Sesame Street. You then took a 4 hour nap, and when you woke up, you were back to being yourself again! You've been doing fine ever since. Hopefully, you won't have any ear infections anytime soon!
