First time away from Mommy!

Liam,
This last weekend, I went to visit your Auntie Cari. I was gone from Friday until Monday. You stayed home with Daddy. I'd never spent a night away from you... but it went well! You're teething (pointy incisors coming in on top), so you were kind of miserable some of the time, but you still did really well. Daddy said that at one point, you just wanted him to hold you in front of the fridge, and you two just stood there and you touched a photo of me on the fridge. When Daddy told me this on the phone, I cried. (Of course, I cried when you and Daddy left on Friday morning too.) I had a fun time with Auntie Cari- it was so nice to have a little break.

You've started to connect words together. Your latest phrase is "I'll get you," which you say while chasing me or Daddy around the house. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever.

You look like such a big boy all of a sudden. You're getting taller, and you look nothing like a baby now. We had your pictures taken a week ago, and you look like a boy, not a baby. The pictures are great- they were taken outside, at a park in Indianapolis. You really seemed to have fun, and it shows in the pictures.

You seem to be eating better lately. Maybe you'll finally gain some weight! In the mornings, you've really been chowing down. You'll eat some of your own food, and then some of both my breakfast and Daddy's. I hope you're eating as well at daycare too.

For the last couple weeks, you've been waking up really early- between 4 and 5:30. Please stop. You know I love you, but it's really killing me and Daddy. :)

I love you, Liam. You're becoming a big boy now, but you'll always be my baby.

18 months old!

Liam,
You are now a year and a half! I can hardly believe it! You will have your 18 month appointment tomorrow. I'm hoping that you're at least 22 pounds... we'll see!

You say so many words now. It's amazing. Your most recent one is "happy." I love to hear you say it. You are such a happy boy. I love to hear/see you sign/say "more." It's much better than listening to you whine when you want something. Of course, usually when you want more of something, it's something from MY plate. I swear, you eat half my breakfast every morning!

I recently bought you a little inflatable swimming pool. You have so much fun in it, in even just a couple inches of water. I also bought you a teeball set this weekend. You love it! It's so fun to watch you swing at the ball. You're really good at kicking a ball around. Maybe you'll play baseball AND soccer?!

You haven't woken up during the night in weeks, if not months. It's wonderful. Today you woke up at 5:10 though, which was much too early. You really need to sleep until at least 6. When you do, you're in a much better mood all day!

You're going through a phase right now. You just seem to want "Mama" all the time. I love it... but it's exhausting. You're unhappy when Daddy gets you in the morning. You cry when I leave the room. You cry when I leave you at daycare. I love you so much, and it's so hard for me to walk away from you when you're crying, but I have to do it each morning. Hopefully this phase will end soon...

I love you so much, my sweet boy.
