Almost Christmas, and almost TEN!

Dear Liam,

Fourth grade is flying by! How can it possibly be December?! Today's is Libby's birthday, which of course means that yours is exactly three weeks from today. I am NOT ready for my first baby to be in double digits!

School is going so well. Daddy and I had your parent teacher conference earlier this week, and your teacher basically said that you're the top of your class in math. I believe it. You amaze me! Math just comes to you so easily. And you're doing very, very well in everything else too. You love to read, and you've branched out into lots of different types of books this year. You have lots of friends in your class. You've joined the chess club this year, which I think you're really enjoying. You played flag football for the first time this fall, and you really had a lot of fun. Now it's a break time for a while, until baseball starts again. You and Libby will start piano lessons after winter break. We'll see how it goes!

Christmas is coming soon. I just have this sneaking suspicion that Santa is going to make it the best Christmas EVER. We'll have to wait and see...

I love you, my sweet boy.

Love,
Mommy

Wait wait wait- fourth grade?!

Dear Liam,

In less than a month, you'll be in fourth grade. HOW?! In fourth grade, you'll turn 10... double digits?! Again... HOW?! The summer is flying by. Baseball is done, other than one more tournament in August for all-stars (and also second season in August). You've been going to lots of different camps this summer, at the PBS station on campus (through Wonderlab), a high school baseball camp, and lots of different Y camps. Crazy to think that you'll only need to go to summer day camps for a couple more summers, and then you'll be old enough to be at home by yourself!

Right now, you and Libby are at Grandma and Grandpa's house for almost two weeks. It's your first big trip away from home. You've been texting me and FaceTiming from Grandma's phone. I know it was hard the first few nights, and that you cried and had trouble falling asleep, but I think everything is okay now. Uncle David is there too, spending much of the time with you. There are baby kitties to play with, and Grandpa took you and David to a Twins vs Royals game at the Twins stadium. Next weekend, Daddy and I will meet you guys in Kansas City, where we'll all see the Twins vs Royals again. I can't wait to see you!

You're such an amazing kid, Liam. I love you so much!

Love,
Mommy
