Peeing on the potty again!

Liam,
You peed on the potty again last night! I'm so proud of you! You sat on your little plastic potty, and you made me sit on the big potty. :) You started peeing in probably less than five seconds. You were very excited to dump the pee in the toilet, and then flush it. You said, "I going pee on the potty EVERY DAY!" I said, "Yes, I hope you DO start to go pee on the potty every day!"

We're getting somewhere, slowly but surely! Exciting times in the Peterson house!

ABCs!

Liam,
For months, you've resisted singing the ABCs, even though I've been pretty sure the whole darn time that you actually knew them. Whenever I'd ask if you wanted to sing them, and I'd start singing, you'd say, "No Mommy! No singing! No ABCs!" So, I've kind of let it go. Randomly last night, we were walking around Target, and you suddenly started singing the ABCs, totally out of the blue. You sang straight through, almost every letter was intelligible, and you pretty much even stayed in the same key the whole time!!!!!!! I was so excited. You then pretty much continued to sing the entire time we were there. Once we got home, you sang them over the phone to Grandma and Auntie Cari. I know it was the higlight of both of their days.

You're such a smart boy, Liam. You amaze me, and Daddy too, every single day.

Mommy

Peeing on the potty chair!!!

Liam,
Last night you peed on the potty chair for the first time! I've been trying to get you to sit on the potty before your bath each night (or every other night) for probably 6 months. Lots of times you just don't want to do it- you want to get right into the bath. And oftentimes, as soon as you get in the bath, you pee! So, I know you always need to pee then, after drinking so much liquid with your supper. Last night, I put you on the potty chair. You did NOT want to be on there- you were struggling to get down, but I said we'd just count to 10, and then you could get down. You were yelling at me, "No counting, Mommy! No counting!!!" LOLLLLL. And then, by the time I'd counted to about 4, you were suddenly peeing! But, your penis wasn't pointed down, so you were peeing an arc over the toilet seat, onto your foot and the floor! I quickly pushed your penis down, and you stopped. I asked if you needed to go more, and then you did, for probably 5 seconds more. When you finished, we clapped, and you pumped your fists in the air and yelled, "I did it!" You were so proud of yourself, and Daddy and I are so proud of you too! I yelled for Daddy, and he came running with my old camera, and took a few pics of you with a big smile on your face. (He also took a pic of your yellow pee in the toilet- LOLLL, and gross!) Of course, I got all teary-eyed. I'm just so proud of you!

When we got to daycare this morning, you told your teachers that you'd peed in the potty chair, and they all cheered for you. So exciting!

Now, I'm sure you'll be fully potty trained tomorrow, right? :) Just kidding. I'm not that delusional- I know it's going to take a long time, but at least this is a step in the right direction!

Love you, my big boy!!!

So smart!

Liam,
You are so smart! You blow me away everyday. You can sing your ABCs, and count to at least 15. And, due to watching so much Dora, you can count to 5 in Spanish. You are amazing! You use words that surprise me every day- like detour, deer crossing (when you see a sign), and many others.

You also amaze me with your sports skills- you love to play T-ball and basketball and soccer. Your aim is well beyond your years. Hopefully you'll get to play T-ball next summer. :)

In less than two weeks, we'll be making our big trip to Wisconsin for Uncle Brian's wedding. Afterwards, we'll be going to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a few days. I think you're going to have lots of fun! It will be a really long drive, but I think you're going to be okay. You have a new portable DVD player with some new DVDs, and I've bought you a special surprise for the trip- some fun art supplies! I think you're going to be the life of the party at the wedding reception. Hopefully you'll be a really good boy at the wedding reception... I'm not sure how it will work, since you probably won't get a nap. Hmmm... We'll see!

Love,
Mommy
