Liam,
You had SUCH a great Christmas! Santa was a big fail, twice, but you loved the Christmas tree. On Christmas Day, you must have said "Merry Christmas, Mommy" to me at least 10 times. Pretty much the cutest thing ever. On Christmas Eve, you wanted to open all the gifts, whether they were for you or not. When you saw your train table on Christmas morning, you were SO excited. That day, you played with it literally every waking moment, other than during meals. You just love that thing, and it makes me so happy to see you happy. You loved to hear me sing Jingle Bells, and you'd try to join in, too. You'd also ask me to sing "la la la" which was Deck the Halls. So cute. On Christmas night, you and Daddy and I drove around and looked at Christmas lights. I think we'll have to make that into a yearly tradition.
You're talking more and more every day. It's crazy. I swear you can repeat almost anything. This morning, you were running around singing a mixture of the Barney song/Twinkle Twinkle/Three Blind Mice. It was truly hilarious. I just love to hear your sweet voice.
Your birthday party will be this Sunday, the day before your birthday. I think we should have around 15 to 20 people there. I don't know how they'll all fit in our house... but we'll make it work! I'm hoping that you don't freak out about all those people... but I think you'll be okay. It's going to be an Elmo party. We ordered your Elmo/Big Bird cake at the grocery store. I can't wait to see it!
I can hardly believe you're going to be 2. Today was my due date, 2 years ago. Little did I know I'd be waiting 5 more days for your arrival! You are the greatest thing that's ever happened to me, sweet boy. I love you.

Just a quick post...
Liam,
Here's something I just posted on my mommy forum, that I wanted to save here, so I don't forget about it...
"Liam has been a maniac lately... but he has moments of such intense sweetness, I get teary-eyed. Last night, he didn't want to go to bed. I got him back out of his crib (where he was bawling) and rocked with him. He wanted me to hold him "like a baby" so he could look up at my face, and gently pat my cheek. I sang Christmas carols to him, and he'd pat or rub my face while I sang. We just rocked in the darkness for about 10 minutes, and I cried a good chunk of the time. At the end of each song, he'd clap and say, "Good job Mommy!" After a few carols, he had calmed down, and he went right to sleep without another peep."
I love you, Sweet Boy.

Christmas!
Liam,
You are so ready for Christmas! You love messing with the Christmas tree... which makes Mommy very mad! You think it's just hilarious to hide under the tree, back in the corner where I can't reach you. Every time you see a pine tree, whether it has lights or not, you yell "Christmas tree!" and it's the cutest thing ever. We've been to the mall a few times, to watch other kids sit on Santa's lap. You haven't done it yet, but I'm hopeful that you won't be afraid when the time comes!
We got our first snow this weekend, and I bought you snowpants and boots. You haven't actually been outside in them yet though, because it's really cold. You love wearing the snowpants and boots in the house though. You think it's fun to fall backwards to the floor, because the snowpants give you extra padding. You also like to walk around, watching your feet, because your boots light up! Very exciting!
You say so many words now. Last night, we were reading a book, and you pointed at the animals and said, "Zebra. Monkey. Bear. Kangaroo." I had no idea you could say all those words! You amaze me with new words every day.
You've become quite a daredevil lately. You've always liked to climb, but lately you also like to jump from whatever it is you've climbed! I swear you're going to end up with a broken bone by the time you're 3...
Recently, you've begun to say "I love you, Mommy" after I say "I love you" to you. It just makes me want to cry every time. You're the sweetest boy in the world, Liam. I love you more than anything.
Love,
Mommy
