Big boy haircut!

Liam,
You got your second professional haircut recently, Liam, and it's so short! You look like such a big boy! I can see so much more of your precious little face now. I love it!

You are picking up new words all the time, and are repeating more and more. You're stringing more words together, like "ready set go!" and "I got it!" I love to hear all the things you have to say. I can tell you get frustrated when I don't understand you, and it makes me feel terrible. Just keep working on those words!

I love you more and more every day. You're so cuddly lately. Almost every time I pick you up, you put your head on my shoulder. Oftentimes, you just rub my arm, or neck, or check. Sometimes, you'll even put your hand in my sleeve, to rub my arm. It's pretty much the cutest thiing ever.

I'm leaving in less than a week for my trip to Florida. I hope you and Daddy have fun at home without me! You haven't been going to bed very well when I'm not home lately- last week you were up until 8:30 the night that I had choir practice. I hope you go to sleep better for Daddy while I'm gone.

Love you, sweet boy.

How can it be September already?!

Dear Li Li Boy,
Today is September 1. I can hardly believe that another school year has started. Four years from now, you'll be in kindergarden! Gah! That's crazy talk! I'm much busier at school now, and can't leave work as early to come rescue you from daycare at the end of the day. This makes me very sad.

I just was approved to attend a conference for work in Orlando a month from now. I'll be away from you from Sunday through Wednesday. Then, I'll be gone again from Friday through Sunday of that week, to go to Iowa for my 10 year college reunion. I can't believe that I'll only get to put you to bed once that week! I'm sure you and Daddy will be just fine, but I know I will miss you more than I can even fathom.

I swear you have new words every day lately. Grandma brought us some pumpkins, which you call puppies. :) You can say (and identify) shovels and ladders. That must have come from a book. You repeated me and said "I'm sorry" once last week. It was precious. You try to say the names of all the trains on your Thomas DVDs. I like that instead of "Molly" the train, you say "Mommy." ")

Love you, my sweet boy.
