So many words!

Liam,

You can say so many words now! Some of your words include: dog, banana ("nana"), apple, baby, ball, water ("wawa"), cheese, hi, bye, no, "not nice," Mama, Dada, book, outside ("side"), bubbles, and fish. You can point to your nose, mouth, eyes, ears, head, belly button, hands, and feet. You can point out lots of things in books, such as apple, ant, airplane, baby, book, ball, bear, car, cat, cake, cow, dog, elephant, flower, fish, guitar, goose, gorilla, horse, etc. (These are all in an ABC book that we currently have checked out from the library.) You can make animal sounds for a cow, sheep, dog, cat (well, you say "meee" but not "ow"), lion, monkey, pig (more of a clicking sound, like you're making the k sound from oink), and elephant (you try really hard to make the sound by putting your lips together and blowing hard). I'm so proud of you.

Today you're 17 months old! I can hardly believe that you'll be a year and a half in just a month!

You got new shoes yesterday. They're your first "real" sneakers, from Stride Rite. I put them on you yesterday, and you immediately wanted to run outside. I think you think that you're the fast boy in the world wearing them... and you are! They're really cool. :)

You've been sleeping so much better since you got your tubes. You used to wake up at 4:30-5:30 every morning, and you'd often wake up at some point during the night. Lately, you've been making it until 6-6:30 most days, and sleeping through the night! It's been wonderful for me and Daddy, but I really also think it's been good for you- you're so much more well-rested.

I took you swimming this past weekend. You were very tentative at first, and just wanted me to hold you, and you sucked your thumb. Within a few minutes though, you ventured away from me. By the time we left, you'd become VERY brave in the water! You even fell down and went all the way under a few times, and it didn't even seem to bother you! You amaze me, Liam.

Love,

Mommy
